Inilah para nomine Jazz Journalists Association (JJA) Jazz Awards 2012!
Jazz Journalists Association (JJA) telah mengumumkan para finalis sebagai nomine pada JJA Jazz Awards ke-16 tahun ini. Nama-nama yang masuk nominasi antara lain pemain veteran Sonny Rollins, Keith Jarrett, Phil Woods, Lee Konitz, Gary Burton, Ron Carter, Roy Haynes, Jack DeJohnette, Pat Metheny, pula John Scofield. Untuk pendatang baru, tersebutlah J.D. Allen, Ambrose Akinmusire, Mary Halvorson, Esperanza Spalding, Warren Wolf, dan Eric Harland.
Penghargaan jazz tahunan ini terbagi atas 40 kategori, dan pemenangnya merupakan hasil seleksi dan voting anggota JJA terdiri dari penulis, fotografer, broadcaster, serta produser new media yang terlibat secara profesional dengan jazz.
Daftar pemenang diumumkan Juni mendatang, menyusul penerima gelar “Lifetime Achievement Awards,” “Musician of the Year,” “Record of the Year,” dan “Male and Female Jazz Vocalists of the Year” pada sebuah cocktail party di Blue Note Jazz Club, New York City tanggal 20 bulan yang sama.
